Kane’s strong position follows a prolific season in which he helped Bayern Munich win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal. He also claimed the European Golden Shoe after recording a career-best goal tally.
Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal is ranked second with a 15 per cent probability.
The 19-year-old is being backed for his performances for Barcelona and Spain, having helped his club secure major domestic success while starring on the international stage.
Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé occupies third place with an 11 per cent probability.
Mbappé’s chances are largely driven by his outstanding individual statistics, including top-scorer honours in the Champions League, LaLiga and FIFA World Cup.
Kane’s growing status has also attracted major betting interest, with one trader reportedly placing a $7.68 million wager on the England captain to win the award.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or winner is scheduled to be announced at the main awards ceremony in London on Monday, October 26, 2026.
