Terra Industries, a Nigerian defence technology company, has raised an additional $18 million, bringing its total seed round to $52 million.
The fresh capital will support the expansion of the company’s manufacturing operations across Africa. Founded in 2024 by Nathan Nwachuku and Maxwell Maduka, Terra Industries develops autonomous systems including drones, quadcopters and sentry towers for governments and infrastructure protection. The company is already safeguarding assets valued at around $11 billion.
The new funds will accelerate production at its facilities in Abuja and a new factory in Ghana, while also supporting the opening of a London office. Terra aims to secure over $100 million in contract bookings by the end of 2026 as it targets markets across the Global South.
The successful fundraising highlights growing investor confidence in Nigeria’s emerging defence technology sector and the potential for indigenous innovation in autonomous systems.
