Social media activist VeryDarkMan has alleged that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke could influence the 2027 presidential election in favour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The allegation follows reports that Adeleke has declared support for Tinubu’s re-election bid and emerged as the Osun State coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a group backing the president.
VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM, made the claims in a video posted on his official Instagram account on Thursday.
He argued that Adeleke’s reported involvement in the movement raised questions about the governor’s political allegiance and his position ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Reacting to the development, VDM described Adeleke’s reported support for Tinubu as confirmation of his long-held suspicions about the governor’s political affiliations.
“Davido’s uncle Governor Ademola Adeleke finally came out to throw his weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the activist said.
He further alleged that Adeleke could use his political influence in Osun State to favour Tinubu during the presidential election, regardless of the preferences of voters.
However, VDM did not provide independently verified evidence to substantiate the allegation of possible vote manipulation.
The activist also revisited the previous Osun governorship election, questioning the political relationships between Adeleke and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the contest.
He claimed that the political rivalry presented to the public did not accurately reflect the relationships among the major political figures involved.
According to VDM, the contest involving Adeleke and candidates from other political parties was not what it appeared to be.
“Ademola Adeleke has always been an APC,” he alleged, suggesting that the political contest was effectively an internal struggle involving interests aligned with the ruling party.
The activist, however, did not establish his claim with independently verified evidence.
VDM also mentioned the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, alleging that he contacted Adeleke before and after the governorship election.
He further claimed that Wike encouraged the Osun governor to present his Certificate of Return to President Tinubu. The allegation was not independently substantiated in the cited video.
The activist also criticised social media posts by Nigerian singer Davido, Adeleke’s nephew, suggesting that the singer’s comments were intended to influence public opinion in Osun State.
VDM interpreted the posts as an attempt to exert emotional pressure on voters. However, he did not provide verifiable evidence establishing the alleged motive behind Davido’s online activities.
The controversy comes as political alignments and endorsements begin attracting increased attention ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adeleke’s reported association with the City Boy Movement has raised questions about his political positioning and the implications for party loyalties in Osun State.
Nevertheless, supporting a presidential candidate does not, by itself, establish electoral misconduct or demonstrate an intention to manipulate votes.
The allegations remain claims made by VeryDarkMan and would require credible evidence before they could be treated as established facts.
Attention may now turn to Adeleke’s response and any further verifiable information regarding his political alignment and role in the 2027 presidential election
