The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has assured customers and stakeholders that its operations remain uninterrupted following a fire incident at its Abuja headquarters over the weekend.
The fire broke out on the second floor of the bank’s head office in the Central Business District on Saturday night. Emergency responders quickly contained the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by the bank’s Group Head of Corporate Communications, Joe Abuku, FMBN said business activities are continuing normally across all its branches.
The bank disclosed that the fire damaged some office furniture, equipment and appliances on the affected floor. However, it stressed that no critical records were lost because all important documents are securely backed up through its cloud-based digital storage system.
FMBN added that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. It also assured mortgage applicants, customers and financial partners that all digital services and transactions remain fully operational.
