Liverpool have completed the £123 million signing of France international Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Reds will pay an initial £106 million, with a further £17 million available in potential add-ons.
The 23-year-old forward has signed a five-year contract at Anfield, becoming Liverpool’s fifth new arrival of the summer.
Barcola follows Victor Munoz, Jeremy Jacquet, Ronald Araujo and Ifeanyi Ndukwe in joining the Premier League champions.
The Frenchman said he was delighted to finally complete the move after a lengthy transfer process.
“It took a long time but I’m really happy today to be able to play for Liverpool and all I want is to be on the pitch and be able to play.”
Barcola has also set his sights on winning the Premier League, describing the achievement as one of his biggest dreams.
“I hope to achieve very big things. First of all, winning the Premier League it’s one of my biggest dreams in my life.”
The forward revealed that his previous experiences at Anfield influenced his decision to join Liverpool.
He said the atmosphere inside the stadium and the passion of the supporters convinced him that Liverpool was the right club for him.
“I had the chance to play twice in this stadium and I saw the atmosphere and how the fans were behind the Liverpool players.”
“When I knew about Liverpool’s interest in me, I didn’t ask questions and I knew it was a very big club for me.”
Barcola will wear the No. 29 shirt as he begins his Liverpool career.
The transfer comes as Liverpool continue to reshape their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.
Manchester City are reportedly in talks with Liverpool over a possible move for Cody Gakpo.
The Reds are also monitoring Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh and Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr as the transfer deadline approaches.
Barcola’s arrival represents another major statement of intent from Liverpool as they prepare to defend their Premier League title.
His signing strengthens an already formidable attacking department and underlines the club’s ambition to compete at the highest level once again.
