Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced that an independent commission of inquiry will be constituted immediately after the August 15, 2026, governorship election to investigate reported cases of extrajudicial killings and other acts of violence recorded during the election period.
The Governor’s position was contained in a statement read by the State Commissioner for Information. He expressed condolences to families affected by the violence and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that all perpetrators are prosecuted, regardless of their political affiliation.
