Faleke picks APC presidential forms for Tinubu and with it, the 2027 re-election machinery has officially been set in motion. James Faleke, House of Representatives member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency and founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, on Tuesday obtained the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms on behalf of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The forms, valued at ₦100 million, were formally presented to the lawmaker by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, at the Continental Hotels in Abuja the designated venue for the ruling party’s sale of nomination forms ahead of next month’s party primaries.
The purchase formally signals President Tinubu’s intention to seek a second term in office, confirming what many political observers had long anticipated. Faleke’s move drew widespread attention, not least because he was the same lawmaker who represented Tinubu when the President picked his first set of presidential forms back in 2022 cementing Faleke’s role as one of the President’s most trusted political foot soldiers.
Notably, Faleke was not the only group to have paid for Tinubu’s nomination forms. The Kogi State Government also reportedly paid for a set of forms on behalf of the President, though Faleke was the individual to whom the documents were officially handed over. The development reflects the breadth of grassroots and institutional support being mobilised around Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
APC Nomination Form Prices for 2027
The APC announced its nomination form fees as part of a broader election timetable earlier in April. Here is a breakdown of what each position costs:
- Presidential Forms — ₦100 million
- Governorship Forms — ₦50 million
- Senate Forms — ₦20 million
- House of Representatives Forms — ₦10 million
- State Assembly Forms — ₦5 million
The sale of forms is scheduled to run from April 25 to May 2, 2026, with May 4, 2026 set as the final deadline for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
2027 Election Dates — What INEC Has Fixed
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially fixed Saturday, January 16, 2027, for the presidential and National Assembly elections. Governorship and State Houses of Assembly polls are scheduled for Saturday, February 6, 2027.
With the forms now in hand, attention turns to the APC’s primary process and whether any challengers within the party will dare to test the incumbent president’s grip on the ruling party ahead of what promises to be a fiercely contested general election.
Political analysts note that early mobilisation of this scale with multiple groups purchasing presidential forms simultaneously is a deliberate show of strength designed to discourage internal opposition and consolidate Tinubu’s position as the APC’s undisputed frontrunner before the primary season even begins.
As Nigeria moves steadily toward another election cycle, one thing is clear the 2027 race has officially begun, and the ruling party is wasting no time.
