The family of Mary Habila has announced the burial arrangements for the late 26-year-old physiotherapist. Habila, who was born on September 18, 2000, died on June 27, 2026.
According to the family, her funeral service will hold on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Deeper Life Bible Church in Nok, Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Habila was found dead at the Uburu, Ebonyi State country home of the Minister of Works, David Umahi. She was serving as a seconded staff member from the David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences to the Ministry of Works.
Her death has attracted widespread attention, with many Nigerians demanding a thorough investigation. Unverified claims on social media have also fueled public interest in the case.
Umahi has denied any involvement in her death. He said he requested an independent autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The minister also urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information. He warned that legal action could be taken against those promoting false claims while police investigations continue.
