Three gospel music organisations have postponed or cancelled scheduled programmes following the death of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.
The singer died on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, sparking tributes and expressions of grief across the gospel music community.
Kaywonder, Pure Gospel Music Generals Akure (PUGMUG) and AY Grace Music Ministry announced changes to their respective events in honour of the late gospel minister.
The organisers said the decisions were taken to allow members of the Christian music community to mourn, reflect and pray following the loss.
Gospel singer Kaywonder, known for the song Oke Nla, announced the postponement of the seventh edition of the Invasion Praise Concert, originally scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 2 p.m.
In a statement, Kaywonder said Toluwanisings’ death had deeply affected the gospel community, prompting the decision to postpone the gathering.
“Following the heartbreaking loss of one of the Gospel ministers, Toluwanisings, we have been deeply affected by this painful moment,” the statement said.
The organiser explained that preparations for the concert were already underway but stressed that the circumstances called for a period of mourning and prayer.
Kaywonder said a new date would be announced soon and urged the public to remember the late singer and his family in their prayers.
Meanwhile, PUGMUG cancelled its 10th anniversary celebration, which had been scheduled for Friday, October 16.
The organisation described Toluwanisings as a beloved brother and committed member, saying the decision followed careful consideration of his death.
“After careful consideration, and in honour of our beloved brother, we regret to announce that the 10th Anniversary Celebration scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled,” PUGMUG stated.
The group apologised to invited guests, gospel ministers and sponsors who might be affected by the cancellation.
It also expressed gratitude to members and supporters for their contributions to the organisation’s 10-year journey.
Similarly, AY Grace Music Ministry postponed its October edition of the All Sufficient Monthly Praise programme, which was scheduled for Thursday.
In a statement shared on Instagram, the ministry described Toluwanisings as a beloved brother in the gospel music industry.
The ministry apologised for any inconvenience caused and promised to announce a new date in due course.
It also extended condolences to the singer’s family, friends and loved ones, praying that God would comfort them during the difficult period.
Toluwanisings was known for his energetic performances and Yoruba-influenced gospel praise music.
His popular songs included A Very Big God and Kabiyesi Olorun Ayo, which earned him recognition among gospel music audiences.
His death has continued to attract tributes from fellow artistes and other members of the Christian community.
While Kaywonder and AY Grace Music Ministry said their programmes would be rescheduled, PUGMUG opted to cancel its anniversary celebration.
The decisions reflect the grief surrounding the singer’s death and the impact of his music and ministry on the gospel community.
As the organisations adjust their programmes, prayers and tributes continue for the repose of Toluwanisings’ soul and for strength and comfort for his bereaved family and loved ones.
