A 28-year-old Toronto man, Adebayo Maoli, has been charged following two alleged incidents involving indecent acts and sexual assault on passengers using the city’s subway system in Canada.
The Toronto Police Service said the incidents occurred at King and College subway stations on September 1 and October 3, 2026.
According to police, the suspect allegedly exposed himself to two passengers aboard a southbound Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) train at King Station at about 3:00 p.m. on September 1.
The passengers reportedly activated the train’s security alarm, prompting the suspect to leave the subway car.
Investigators subsequently linked Maoli to a second alleged incident at College Station in the early hours of October 3.
Police said the suspect allegedly followed a passenger who was alighting from a subway train at about 12:10 a.m.
He reportedly continued following the passenger onto an escalator before allegedly exposing himself.
The victim confronted him verbally, after which the suspect fled the scene, according to the police account.
Following their investigation, authorities charged Maoli with two counts of indecent act and one count of sexual assault.
The Toronto Police Service announced the arrest on Sunday and appealed to the public for information that could assist the investigation.
Police expressed concern that there could be additional victims, urging anyone who may have experienced similar incidents or witnessed either alleged offence to contact investigators.
Maoli was scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, located at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in Room 301.
The police also released an image of the suspect as part of efforts to identify potential victims and gather further evidence.
The case has drawn attention to concerns about unwanted sexual conduct and passenger safety on public transportation.
However, the allegations against Maoli have not been established in court. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
