The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed a fatal stabbing in Ikom Local Government Area.
The incident happened on July 4, 2026, in the Etayip Community.
The victim was identified as 36-year-old Charles Ekuma Eze.
Police said the suspect, 42-year-old Michael Ndifon, has been arrested.
According to investigators, the two men got into a heated argument.
The disagreement reportedly turned violent during the confrontation.
The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim on the right side of his rib with a dagger.

The injured man was first taken to Holy Family Hospital in Ikom.
He was later referred to Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki.
Doctors later confirmed that he died while receiving treatment.
Police said the victim’s body has been deposited in the morgue for an autopsy.
The dagger believed to have been used in the attack has been recovered as evidence.
The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
The police have appealed to residents to remain calm and allow the law to take its course.
