The Chairman of Etinan Local Government Area, Uko Umoh, has commended Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno for attending the funeral service of the late Deaconess Jenny Onofiok Ufot.
Umoh described the governor’s presence as a demonstration of compassion, leadership and solidarity with the people of Etinan.
In a statement issued on behalf of Etinan residents, the council chairman praised Eno for honouring the memory of the late matriarch.
He described Deaconess Ufot as a woman who dedicated her life to her family, faith and community.
During the funeral ceremony, Governor Eno announced the approval of the construction of Afaha Akpan Ekpo Road in Etinan.
Umoh expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing the road project as a lasting tribute to the late Deaconess Ufot.
“The announcement of the construction of Afaha Akpan Ekpo Road at the funeral ceremony is, to us in Etinan, the best way to immortalise our dear mother, who gave her all in service to God and her community,” Umoh said.
The council chairman also thanked the state government for its continued attention to rural infrastructure and grassroots development across Akwa Ibom State.
