Nigerian music icon 2Baba with real names Innocent Idibia, has strongly condemned the continued killings in Benue State, particularly the recent attacks on communities in Otukpo Local Government Area.
In a statement during his visit on Wednesday to Otukpo Local Government Area, one of the communities affected by recent attacks by suspected armed herders, the veteran artiste described the attacks as unacceptable and called for urgent action to protect lives and restore peace in the affected communities.
2Baba’s intervention adds to the growing voices of public figures demanding an end to the persistent violence in parts of Benue State. The State has for years struggled with insecurity, particularly farmer-herder clashes and attacks on rural communities.
The artiste’s comments have been welcomed by many Nigerians who continue to express concern over the loss of lives and the displacement of residents in the region.
As calls for improved security intensify, stakeholders are urging the Federal and State Governments to take decisive steps to end the cycle of violence and ensure the safety of citizens in Benue State.
