Pastor Titilayo Adewale, daughter of the late founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, has denied criticising the church’s leadership over her father’s legacy.
In a statement posted on her Facebook page on Monday, Adewale described as false a viral message claiming she accused the church of failing to honour its founder.
She said the statement circulating online did not originate from her and should be disregarded.
“The statement attributed to me is not from me, either implicitly or explicitly,” she said.
Adewale stressed that her father never sought earthly recognition and would not have been concerned about having his name or image displayed on church buildings.
She said his greatest legacy was the lives he impacted, not physical structures or monuments.
According to her, Pa Akindayomi believed in building people rather than acquiring wealth or owning property during his lifetime.
She added that it would be inconsistent to suggest he desired public recognition through buildings after his death.
Adewale alleged that the viral reports were intended to create division and distract from the church’s work.
She urged those spreading the claims to stop promoting false information and unnecessary controversy.
The pastor also expressed support for the General Overseer of the RCCG, Enoch Adeboye, praying for God’s wisdom, strength and continued guidance for him, his family and the church’s leadership.
She wished members of the RCCG worldwide a successful convention and called for unity within the church.
