Jude Okoye has denied allegations that he diverted $1.2 million in royalties belonging to his younger brother, Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P.
In a video shared on Instagram, the former P-Square manager said the claims had already been investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and are currently before the court.
Jude accused Mr P of trying to sway public opinion through social media instead of allowing the judicial process to take its course. He also questioned why the singer had allegedly failed to appear in court for three consecutive hearings.
Responding to claims that he and Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) diverted about $25,000 in royalties, Jude said the money was shared based on instructions given by Peter in 2016.
According to him, records from digital distributor IROKO showed that Peter requested his own share to be paid directly into his personal account, while the balance meant for Jude and Paul was paid into the Northside Entertainment account.
Jude said the financial records were reviewed during the EFCC investigation and no wrongdoing was found.
He also dismissed claims that Peter was removed as a signatory to the group’s bank accounts, displaying what he described as official bank documents showing Mr P remained a co-signatory.
Jude further denied delaying access to P-Square’s music catalogue records. He said the requested information was provided within six days and that download logs confirmed Peter accessed the files immediately.
He also rejected claims that Peter only recently started receiving payments in foreign currency, insisting that records show Mr P had been paid in dollars since 2012.
Speaking on the impact of the dispute, Jude said his bank accounts have been frozen for more than two years, preventing him from travelling abroad.
He maintained that all company earnings were properly documented and shared according to agreed arrangements, adding that he would leave the matter for the court to decide rather than continue exchanging accusations on social media.
